JRGS "Macbeth" school play

December 1960 performance of the school play, "Macbeth," with Clive Thompson (left) as Lady Macbeth and Granville Hawkins in the title role. According to a review in the April 1961 School Magazine, "[Hawkins] is now an actor of some experience and held the production together with a very virile and dominating performance... Macbeth is a complex character, poet as well as soldier, and one who grows aged and weary as events submerge Him. And Hawkins tackled the part with confidence and much success."
The review also acknowledges that "Mr. Crow, whose first production this was, upheld the traditions of the [Drama] Society established by Mr. Neale. His labors brought much enjoyment to many, and much credit to the School."
