Paul Graham writes: As well as these two cover sheets, this is a monster edition of 48 pages. The title changes from John Ruskin Grammar School to just John Ruskin School for the first time. The quality of the articles, poetry and art work seem very good to me. There is lots of interest for everybody.

The staff comings and goings on pages 4 and 5 is dominated by the farewell to the 24-year Ruskin career of Mr. L W "Sam" Chaundy. Pages 13 and 14 contain a school play review by Mr. Alan Murray that reveals as much about him as the productions. Female fashions from the Swinging Sixties on page 17 to 20. A trip down memory lane for Selhurst Park regulars on page 21. An interview with Dr Terence P Morris, ex-Ruskin pupil, and renowned sociologist, on page 31. Does the Arts Club article on page 38 really imply that the singer Al Stewart visited the school? Perhaps one of the reported 150 people who attended can confirm this?

Music Notes on page 40 from Mr. Ian Butterworth, recent contributor to our website. On page 44 is a generous note by Mr. Neville Graham on the retirement as Head of PE by Mr. Charles Smith, and his concentration on maths for the remainder of his career.

Despite the impending major changes to the school, there was almost no hint of it in the magazine except for a worried comment on page 46 in the Old Boys' Association article.
