Paul Graham writes: "This the only remaining magazine of the post-60 era that hadn't yet been scanned. After this publication there was only one more edition, in May 1971, before the tradition died following the Croydon schools reorganization that is referred to by Mr. Lowe in his article. The magazine is a high quality production, with two of the editors, Phillip Tidd and Allan Cubitt, being members of our group.
"1970 saw the 50th anniversary celebrations of the school (page 2), an event I don't ever recall any of our contributors mentioning. A lengthy poem on page 12 and page 13 by Chris Gosling commemorating this event is worth reading.
"The saddest item, on page 4, records the sudden death of Mr. Ronald 'Puncher' Pearce, a vividly remembered teacher of mathematics. An even longer-serving member of staff, Mr. G. T. 'Percy'  Pearman, also left that year for retirement. The same article records other staff changes, including the departure of Mr. Neville Graham, head of PE, for New Zealand. [more]
"Ex-alumni who visited the school art exhibition in July 1969 may recognize themselves or colleagues in the photo on page 7. A short biography on page 25 of ex-alumnus, journalist and author Barrie Sturt-Penrose is worth reading, plus the usual wide range of clubs and sporting activities."
